Creating a Tracking Camera
A Tracking Cameras is associated with a selected Entity. You can specify one of three points of view along with the Camera’s distance from the Entity:
- Entity point of view–Camera shows what the Entity sees.
- Entity offset point of view–Camera follows the Entity from a slightly offset angle.
- Straight down–Camera looks down upon the Entity from above.
To create a Tracking Camera:
- Run playback and then pause it when you see an Entity you would like to track. Check the ID of the chosen Entity (see Viewing Entity Details).
- Click the Entity Tracking
Camera
icon.
The ‘Create a tracking Camera’ dialog is displayed.
- In the Camera name box,
enter the Entity ID (or similar useful information) after the default name
‘Tracking entity:’
Enter the Entity ID number in the Entity ID box.
- Select one Tracking Mode from the drop down list: If you chose the second or third option, enter a distance (in metres) in the Distance box (we recommend a short distance for the offset point of view and a longer one for the straight down angle but both have default values which you may wish to accept).
- Click
OK.
The Camera view is now listed in the drop-down menu to the left of the built-in Camera icons and can be selected from here at any time. It also appears in the Object Directory under ‘Cameras’.
- Repeat steps for any further tracking Cameras you wish to add.
